Ganking is not an extra move
The keyword everyone misreads in their first tournament, and the one line of the glossary that settles it.
Ganking reads like a bonus. It is not. It adds a legal destination to the standard move you already had — nothing else about that move changes.
What actually changes
Without Ganking, the standard move goes from your base to a battlefield. With it, battlefield to battlefield becomes legal too. That is the whole keyword.
- It is still one move, not two.
- Exhausting the unit is still the cost.
- The unit still arrives exhausted.
The trap
Players read “can move between battlefields” and hear “can move again”. Then they move once from base, and try to move a second time across. That second move has no cost left to pay, because the unit is already exhausted.
If you want a unit ready where the fight is, Ganking will not get you there. Something else has to.

I lost a game to exactly this misread last weekend. Reading it written down plainly helps.
